2010 Youthful Voices Storytelling Contest
The Youthful Voices entry deadline has been extended
to January 11, 2010.
Media specialists, Teachers, Coaches, & Parents: Grab your camcorders and record your finest young storytellers from 1st through 12th grades for the Virginia Rivers Youthful Voices Scholarship. Five finalists and their adult chaperones will be our honored guests at the 26th Annual StoryCamp to be held in Leesburg, FL., March 26-28, 2010. Our scholarship recipients will be treated to an unforgettable weekend that includes:
- Registration, room, and meals for the teller and an adult chaperone from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch
- Specialized workshops that will enhance storytelling skills
- Storytelling Concerts by outstanding nationally and internationally recognized storytellers
- Group Coaching
- Individual Coaching/Mentoring with a master storyteller
- Hanging out, having fun and beginning new friendships with other youth tellers
- Participation in the Youthful Voices Concert on Saturday evening
- DVD of individual performances as well as the entire Youthful Voices Concert
- Opportunity to hear and share the stage with the most outstanding storytellers
Please note: transportation to StoryCamp is not included

StoryCamp only lasts a weekend but the benefits last a lifetime …
As a result of the knowledge, inspiration, and encouragement received at StoryCamp, many of our recipients have performed in regional, state, national, and international competitions and festivals including the National Youth Storytelling Showcase and the National Storytelling Network’s Storytelling Festival.
No matter what paths our young tellers take, their storytelling skills will provide a bright light to lead the way
