Youthful Voices Contest Guidelines
- Florida students in grades one (1) through twelve (12) who have not previously won the FSA Youthful Voices Storytelling Contest are eligible to participate. A competition or an elimination process by the sponsoring organization or individual adult sponsor must select the chosen student.
- A blind judging of the recorded entries will select five (5) finalists.
- Entries must be submitted in a DVD or mini-DV format.
- Please identify the student by name on the label only – not as part of the performance. To do so will disqualify the entry. Please make sure the DVD can be clearly viewed and heard.
- Entries must arrive by January 11, 2010 to be considered
- All participants and the sponsoring organization or individual adult sponsor will be notified of the outcome of the contest by January 31, 2010 via e-mail or telephone.
- After a full day of special workshops and activities, the five (5) finalists share their entry story at the 2010 Florida Storytelling Association StoryCamp during their Youthful Voices Concert on the main stage on Saturday night, March 27th.
- A parent or adult guardian (21 years old or over) must accompany each selected teller to StoryCamp. The student and accompanying adult will receive the Virginia Rivers Youthful Voices Scholarship which includes registration, room and meals beginning Friday evening, March 26th through Sunday afternoon, March 28th. Transportation to StoryCamp is NOT included.
- Recorded entry of the selected student and the information sheet must be sent to:
