In 2002, the FSA Board of Directors created the third grant program, the TELL Grants.
These grants support individual FSA Members by offering reimbursement for registration, travel and accommodations for those attending workshops, as well as funds to assist groups/chapters in hosting professional development events.
A Gathering could apply to FSA for up to $200 to help provide for a facility, to fund the honorarium for the workshop leader, or to help cover other costs of the Gathering.
Aim of the Grant
- TELL Grants support individual FSA Members, who can apply for funds for registration, housing and travel expenses to attend storytelling workshops, coaching sessions, and retreats.
Who may apply
- Individual members of FSA.
Amount of money per Grant
- Individual FSA Members: Up to $250 per grant.
Restrictions
- Individual FSA Members: No more than two members of a local StoryGroup or FSA Chapter for the same event. The event must include workshops. One grant per member, per year. Not applicable for FSA StoryCamp.
Additional General Information
- The applicant for any FSA grant must be a current member of FSA in good standing.
- Grant applications must be received by established deadlines, as shown on the grant application, for consideration by the FSA Board of Directors at their quarterly meetings.
- All applications must include full information about the event or proposed events. The person applying for the grant must show how knowledge gained by the grant will be shared with other members of the group/chapter, community, or FSA.
