Community Outreach

Story is a universal language that stretches around the world, across all endeavors, all ages, all cultures. Story reflects our human experience, teaches what must be learned and connects us at the heart and soul. Whoever you are, story is a language worth exploring.

Let the Florida Storytelling Association help you explore the many ways in which story can add to your walk of life. FSA can offer educational opportunities, program ideas, resources and of course, storytellers for audiences of any age and interest.

“The FSA has had a major impact on my storytelling skills. As a member since 1999, I have been able to attend nearly every StoryCamp. The seminars held there and the quarterly newsletter have enriched, molded and stretched me. Thanks to a TELL grant, I was able to explore the area of Biblical Storytelling at the NOBS (Network of Biblical Storytellers) annual festival, which taught me how to become a liturgical teller. I have been able to incorporate this into my church worship, and am in the beginning stages of creating a local Biblical Storytellers’ group. FSA and my local guild (Tampa Bay Storytellers’ Guild) have provided a way for me to meet and hear other tellers. They have also provided a place to perform, getting feedback from my peers.”

“Being a member of the Florida Storytelling Association has contributed to my professional growth as much as being a member of FAME. FSA offers the unique opportunity to develop my storytelling skills as well as those of my students. StoryCamp, the FSA StoryTimes Journal, and the various StoryLabs provide instruction, inspiration, and FUN!!”
