You asked for it and we listened. We are offering a five hour intensive workshop for storytellers who want to grow their story biz with world renowned expert and storyteller Dianne de Las Casas. Begin with us Wednesday for dinner, followed by an evening concert. Registration begins at 8:30 Thursday morning and class runs from 10:00 a.m.4:00 p.m.. For only $125 you get a nights lodging, concert, an intensive workshop, 3 meals and as a bonus the first 26 people will get a free copy of Dianne’s new book Story Biz (a $45 value). And They All Lived Happily Ever After: Traditional Stories: How to tell, research, and honor traditional stories: The who, what, where, when and why of telling the old stories.

Handmade Tales: In this “hands-on” workshop, participants will learn tales that use hands as an active part of the telling: string stories, draw and tell, cut and tell, paper tales, hand stories and finger plays, and other tales (handkerchiefs, napkins, and towels). (3 hours)

Story Fest: Reading Comprehension Through Story Theater: Through Dianne’s innovative story theater scripts designed for whole classroom participation, creative movement, drama, and rhythm instruments, teachers and librarians will explore storytelling and collectively create a performance masterpiece! Fastpaced and fun!

Eth-Noh Tec

Tell it with Movement: If you want to enhance your telling with movement, this is your workshop! Besides lots of fun, There will be time for some coaching and perhaps a chance to play with fellow tellers in ensemble storytelling. (3 hours))

‘Green Grows the Story’ is eth-Noh-Tec’s project of civic education and activism inspired by the art of storytelling. This workshop will help you design your own project, acquaint you with some global climate change information, take a look at your concerns about the environment, and give you a chance to create your own green story. (3 hours)

Susan Klein

Story Coaching: Artistic Direction for Intermediate and Advanced Storytellers: Five lucky participants will receive coaching from Susan while the rest of us glean from her experience. Susan Klein’s trained ear will help you examine your story structure, character and plot development, language usage, grammar, and all aspects of creating the well-told tale. (3 hours)

And Now, Would You Please Welcome… A workshop for emcees. Learn how to effectively serve your sponsors, producers, audience and tellers and allow the audience to love the performers before their feet hit the stage! Also receive training on how to properly use a microphone.

Family Storytelling – the Mysteries and Secrets Revealed! Learn how to can discover the more colorful and maybe even crazier members of your family. In this workshop, you will learn about the interview and collecting process. (Taught in 2 parts)

Florida HiStorytelling: Learn how to take historical facts and blend them into an existing story or folktale or Florida family story.

Tamara Green

Writing Tools for Story Writers: every story has to start out somewhere. What triggers story ideas? Believe it or not stories are born out of almost anything from a situation to a character that was either a part of your life or outside of your own personal space. Let’s do what writers do. Let’s initiate, evaluate and write!

Equipping Your Story Character: This workshop places emphasis on building story characters through facial expression, vocal variety, and physical traits. Just as the eyes are the window to the soul, the face speaks volumes to the heart of the listener.
